No way... Dick, what the heck happened? Fond memories crop up and fill my mind. Lots of good days, nights, and overnights in our young years. Haven't seen you in so many years. Until we meet again... ron
I am in shock in hearing of Dick's passing. He took such good care of his physical health. He was an avid bike rider and great family man.In our youth when we had energy and I had hair, we would ride or run for miles on end. Unfortunately I did not stay in touch. His passing has given me the motivation to see all the great people who I knew at Tech. I hope to see many of you October 28 at the upcoming reunion. Oz, call me at 775 742 3106. Dick, you were a fantastic person. Bruno
I just read Dick's obituary that indicates he died on the last day of last year. The details of his life were vibrant, as was his ever charming smile. He was the paradox of strength of character and mildness of manner. The victim of pancreatic cancer, it is an insidious evil member of all cancers that prey on us. My memories of you form a fond impression that can never be stolen or misplaced. You are also a reminder that as years pass, so do our friends. I look forward to the reunion in a few weeks so I can cherish the treasures of who we were, what we did, and what has happened to us. ...ron
Ron, beautiful remarks. I might add that we can discuss our future plans. It ain't over til the fat lady sings and when Red Auerbach lights up his cigar! We can toast Dick and all those who have gone before us. Tom
I was hoping to see him at the mini-reunion coming up. We were on the swim tean together for two years and were often on relays together. I left Oakland to go to college and my folks moved to Richmond while I was gone. I often "toll" College Ave and Broadway when I'm in town. Richard was fun" and dedicated. His passing is the first real "loss" I have felt from the old days.. See you all in Alameda. Dave
