Sherry Larsen Beville

My life in a nutshell... Married to Tom Brackett for 10 years. Married to Frank Beville (deceased) for 33 years. Worked as a ticket seller at the Oakland Coliseum for 40 years, as well as Neil Thrams Ticket Agency and other venues. Became active in the peace and justice movement in 1981, especially in anti-nuclear, anti-war and Central America issues. I worked as a field interviewer for a few research companies for 10 years before retiring in 2010. I am an avid duplicate bridge player. Susan Kovacevic and I are bridges partners and the best of friends. I swim, do Qigong and walk regularly. I was an avid bird watcher and love going to the movies. I have 7 grandchildren of my own plus another 12 born to my deceased husband Frank's 4 children. I am an active member of the First Unitarian Church of Oakland. I really enjoyed high school. I hung out with Carol Egan, Judi Fracchia, Bobbie Venturi, Marilyn Olivieri, and Patti Shock among others. We had a car club called The Schemers. In high school I dated Bob Sage and Tom Brackett. I was in Mr. Smith's typing class. I usually got A/D. I was very fast and accurate on the typewriter. I grew up in the Rockridge District. My father died in 2015 (98), followed by my mother (96) in 2018. I live in the same neighborhood where I grew up. I also attended Rockridge Grammar School and Claremont Junior High School.
